Ok, I just heard the news, Older (but very hot) mom Madonna is planning on adopting!![]()
Word on the street is that Madonna is planning on adopting a baby to add to her family.
Madge, who is married to film director Guy Ritchie, already has two children, Lourdes, 9 and Rocco, 5.
According to Handbag.com, Madge and Ritchie have already begun the adopting process, and are hoping to adopt a baby from Vista del Mar, California.
I had to get right on this blog and be the first,(Ok, more like the 10,000th person) to report it.

Over on the fost - adopt blog I’ve been musing about adding a second child to our family mix. I must admit that my age,
(almost 48!) has me second guessing my decision to adopt again and to have two or more adopted children.
My energy level is pretty good. I keep up with the physical activity - so far - but at the end of the day I get tired of the wining, and I’m a bit less patient.
That could just be my personality and nothing to do with age of course. I used to be... more
We're running around like mad preparing for our two week trek to Atlanta to visit family. Our house is bustling with excitement and we're counting own the days. From time to time my children will remark about what it will be like when they bring their children home to visit me,when I become the grandma. The thought of that tickles them. It tickles me. It tickles me that it tickles me. After all, I have peers whose good and grown children already have children of their own. So, I could already be a grandma had I started having my children after I graduated from college like some of my friends.... more
K and Hubby and I are at the train station in Paris waiting to take the TGV - the fast train - to the south of France. ![]()
We’ve got way to much luggage - a stroller, car seat, day pack, Dora day pack, two suitcases and a two year old to keep track of. I'm nervously trying to keep it all together and watch for the train, and keep an eye on K. We've got the stroller folded up so she's loose.
K walks up to the nice older lady sitting down next to us and declares, “We are going to France.” The lady smiles. She obviously doesn’t understand a word of what K is saying.

By now, it should be obvious that there is no answer to the question: How old is too old to become a parent? If there were, we would have answered it by now. Every time I hear of another "really" old woman giving birth to a child through the miracles of modern medicine I have the same flabbergasted response: What in the world was she thinking? Then I see the pictures, or I watch the television interviews that always follow, and the answer is always the same. She wanted to to be a mommy. That's what she was thinking. Then I'm off and running in my head with all of my adoption judgments. Well, heck. Why didn't she just adopt? At her age and with all of her resources, she could have... more
I’m in Paris.
The French women look fantastic. You can’t really tell how old they are because they all dress classy, have flawless skin and carry themselves with grace, humor and wisdom.
I'm always trying to guess. Is she in her 30's? Late 30's? 20's maybe. I just can't tell. Even the wrinkles around their eyes are youthfull.
My parents live part time in France and we go visit. K, at two (and that all important half) can speak more French than I can. She started talking about vacation in France weeks before our trip, and can remember visiting last year, if only from... more

...........Why do French women look so great?
I wish I knew. But maybe I do, and just don't have the time to follow through.
In France they focus on the quality of life.
French women drink wine, eat creamy sauces. Eat dessert. They wouldn’t be caught on a treadmill or in a gym. They do have great sex. (apparently). Is that why do they look so great? They do everything they want?
I know the French I’ve met put family first. They take their time with life. Enjoy the moment. Eat when they are... more

A few days ago I published this post on "Boomeritis," a term coined to describe the physical maladies that plague the boomer generation as we go kicking and screaming into old age. The entire post amused me and I thought about it repeatedly. Then just last night, as I was reflecting on it for the umpteenth time, a thought struck me that made me sit straight up... more
I like to think I’m wiser than I was when I was twenty. I hope so,
but I’m not really sure if this is a fact.
about being on the same life path no matter what your age. That the life path is set out before you and that is the path you will be on for life. You make choices and as a result your life becomes better - or not so better.
But I wonder if that is really true. Can’t we change and grow as we become older? Can’t we do better when we know better?
Are we set for a pre-destined life?

Being older doesn’t necessarily mean you are wiser. I wish it were so.
Being older doesn’t necessarily mean you are a better mom. I wish it were so. Being older doesn’t mean you are richer, more educated, better traveled or more open to life experiences.
Being older just means you have more life experience with your life.
