The members of Queen were all bright guys.
Here are some others that prove you don't have to drop out and stay out to Rock & Roll:
Dexter Holland - Lead vocalist of The Offspring was pursuing his Msc in Molecular Biology when he decided to dedicate his full time to the band.
James Lilja - Also from The Offspring (for a couple of years) got his medical degree in Gynecological Oncology. Who would guess…
David Farrell - Bassist for the nu/metal band called Linkin Park got his degree at UCLA
Lou Reed - Lead guitarist and vocalist of The Velvet Underground (and much more…) got a university degree in English at Syracuse University
Tom Morello - Former Rage Against the Machine now Audioslave guitarist attended Harvard University and graduated in Political Science.
Scott Stapp - Lead vocalist and founder of Creed got himself a degree at University of Notre Dame
Art Garfunkel - American song writer and singer that happens to to have a Masters degree in Mathematics!

And John,
There' s nothing wrong with looking like Barney Fife. There are obviously many who love the look, as Mick has never had a problem getting dates. And all the greats are at least 64 now. It's THE age to be.

And Lisa,
You and Arnold! Yeah!!!

So whats wrong with looking like Barney Fife??? And 64 is OK, the Beatles even wrote a song about it. Leave some room for us normies. A PhD in astrophysics? Sorry, I still think it was better for him to do Queen then and the rocket science thing now.

It is amazing the things we can do when we are older. I sure find parenting a lot easier at this age than in my 30s. Being established gives us the time to do the nice to do things. Now if someone could just come up with a really effective wrinkle cream.

That lady waterskiing at 91, wow. I thought that was hard work at 16. Wouldn't it be great to be in that kind of shape at that age. John

Wow, it's pretty cool to see some of those accomplishments.

Although my first thought, truth be told, when I saw the Brian May story, was "Who knew rock stars could be so SMART?" (So, clearly, my bias is showing, in an entirely different way.)
