I used to tell time by my watch and my calendar.

If I wanted to remember when Hubby and I went to that great jazz concert in the park, or to my parent’s home, I’d look at a calendar and try to remember.
Together we’d pour over the months saying, I think it was June, - last year, what were we wearing? Was it hot yet? Wait, maybe it was this week, in July, I think the flowers were all in full bloom. Oh, I think they were pansies, maybe it was June. Or maybe late September?
Now It’s all K time.
Remember when we went to that great concert in the park? K was dancing around on the grass and the little girl behind her shared her cereal snack? The storm came rolling in over the mountains and we watched lightning and rain while listening to jazz. K must have been about eighteen months old then.
Ok, June then.
Or,
Was it last fall that we visited my parents in New England and ate soup by the fireplace in that cozy little coffee shop? Or was it this last spring? Which visit was it that we went? Oh, I remember, K was talking up a storm to the coffee diva, she must have been more than two years old then. I bet it was spring!
Having K around to help keep time helps keep everything in perspective.
Hungry child, it must be about noon,
Cranky child, it must be about nap time.
Asking about Daddy? She’s following her internal clock and knows he due home any minute.
It’s quite handy having this timekeeper as part of our family.
Should come in handy as we get older. I’m sure she won’t have any trouble remembering important dates. Like her birthday and Christmas for instance.
But does anyone else notice…..?
Since we’ve had this timekeeper I notice how it’s all going so fast.
