My feet and weight!

I can be spontaneous and impulsive. I know I can.

So I’m starting right now this very second on my weight loss program. At first I THOUGHT I’d start on October 1st. But heck, that was just another postponement measure.

If you missed it, I got inspired by Dr. G’s weight loss and energy post. And then I thought about it for about a week.

Then I decided, spontaneously like, to DO something about it.

I want to go skiing with K in a couple of months. And sledding, and shoe showing and everything else that takes a great deal of stamina and strength.

When we first moved to Colorado, I used to do all those things. I haven’t been skiing in a few years and the last time I went sledding in the snow I couldn’t get back up the mountain without complaining.

Us older moms need to stay fit to keep up!

No time to start like the present.

So, here it is.

My Stats:

Today is September 28th, 2:00 pm.

Starting stats: Size 10 – 12 - Weight: 160

(ok, for those of you who are really nit picky finicky exacting kind of people, yes the scale says 165. I don't know how that happened)

What I ate today so far:

Scrambled eggs
Toast and Marmalade
Coffee more coffee
Cheese enchilada
Chips
Sliced Peaches

CHOCOLATE MALTED MILK BALLS.

Oh boy.

This mornings exercise:

One hour yoga.
30 minutes on treadmill.
Dancing with K
Carrying K through the parking lot because I was late.
Carrying K upstairs for nap as she was almost asleep.

Tonight I am making Pineapple upside down cake. I've had a craving and bought pineapple today. I'll substitute applesauce for the sugar.... It'll be ok.

We are having spagetti for dinner.

Can you say portion control?

I think I can I think I can.....

Tomorrow I don't have any scheduled work outs. I'll have to find a way to walk or hike. Last time I hiked with K it turned out ok. She loved it. The dogs loved it. I loved it.

Ok, it's a plan.

Small baby steps....

Love your diet! It may not be conducive to weight loss, but it has a lot of variety, obviously caters to cravings, and has a lot of comfort food. Yummm!

Lisa, are you saying I can't loose weight on my comfort food and cravings diet? :)

Okay, I'm with you. We weigh about the same...I haven't stepped on a scale since I was at the doctors office for a broken wrist. What my wieght has to do with a broken wrist: I'm stll trying to figure that out. Anyway, I weighted 165 lbs. I go back and forth from 155 to 165. I eat pretty much anything and I mean anything I want during the day and try not to eat at night. What I've eaten today:

-One bagel with cream cheese and lots of raspberry jam.
-One cup of coffee.
-One cup of Chia Tea w/non dairy creamer two teaspoons of sugar.
-about one quart of water.
-two slices of pizza.
-two once payday candy bar.

My apple from yesterday keeps staring me in the face. I'll eat plain yogurt for dinner.

Exercise: I hiked about 1 mile this a.m.: does yesterday count? I hiked two miles then, as well as Tuesday and Monday. Of course I don't have K to poke along...I have a two year old golden that doesn't slow down for much. However, I do have a spur in my left heel that is killing me! Not so much fun to hike on. And deffinately slows me down. Another story there.

Oh, I'm eating my apple.

You go Michelle...I'll go with you.

Ok I checked, you can't substitute apple sauce for sugar. But I do have STEVIA in my cupboard.

I wish you lots of luck. I am working on losing weight too, but am not so brave as to give my statistics. I just joined Curves though. I'm hoping that because I'm paying for it I'll actually go. :) We'll see.

Okay, i'm in...i'm already working with two other women friends "in real time" to get some pounds off...but zheez, i'm not as brave as you in reporting all of those numbers, girl!

You gotta love those malted milk balls -- an essential part of my diet, too!

I don't believe in diets as I think it creates a deprevation cycle that just creates more cravings. I haven't dieted for 20 years. I don't know my stats as I don't own a scale. I have a baby scale, even though I don't have a baby. I bought it to weigh my cats when I attempted to put them on a diet. That didn't work either. Their deprevation cycle just kept me up at night. Miserable. Anybody need a baby scale?

Ok to all of you so far... stay motivated. I'm going to check in with you next Thursday. Everyone still welcome to join!

To Robin: I happen to know you are skinny. Want my Malted Milk Balls?

All right! All right! I'm in, too, but I don't have a scale, either. I suppose I could post a photo of me naked...
yeah, right. That won't be happening.

So, I'll just report on decreased chunkiness.

As of today, my butt's too big and the rolls on my belly make sitting down fairly unattractive. I'm also not happy with my flappy arms.

What will I do about it?
Treadmill time, dance with the kids, limit my intake.

count me in, too. My blue jeans are too tight. And now it's blue jean weather - no more elastic waist shorts!

I need exercise, exercise, exercise. LuLu and I need to start walking for sure!

But boy I don't want to give up that French Silk ice cream Nancy S introduced me too -- she's an evil woman, girls, stay away from her!!!
